Respecting Intellectual Property Rights

Look, I get it – copyright stuff can feel overwhelming and intimidating. But here at MG Tools, I take intellectual property seriously because I’m a creator myself and understand the frustration when someone uses your work without permission. This page explains how we handle copyright concerns and what steps you should take if you believe your content appears on our site without authorization.

What Is DMCA?

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a US copyright law that provides a process for copyright holders to request removal of infringing content from websites. While MG Tools operates from London in the United Kingdom, we respect intellectual property rights globally and follow DMCA procedures as a best practice for handling copyright claims.

If you’re a copyright owner and believe something on https://mgtools.online infringes your rights, this policy explains exactly how to notify us so we can investigate and take appropriate action quickly.

Our Commitment to Copyright Compliance

I built MG Tools to share gaming resources and tools, not to steal anyone’s hard work. Everything created specifically for this site is original content, and when we reference or link to external sources, we do so properly with appropriate attribution. However, if something slipped through that shouldn’t be here, I want to know about it immediately.

We respond to legitimate copyright complaints promptly and take them seriously. Your intellectual property matters, and protecting it matters to us too.

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe content on MG Tools infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to support@mgtools.online that includes the following information. The more detailed and complete your notice, the faster we can investigate and respond appropriately.

Your DMCA notice must include:

  • Your full legal name, address, phone number, and email address
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (provide specific details or links)
  • The exact URL or location on MG Tools where the allegedly infringing material appears
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
  • A statement that the information in your notice is accurate
  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • A declaration made under penalty of perjury that you’re authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

What Happens After You Submit a Notice

Once I receive a properly formatted DMCA notice, here’s what happens next. I’ll review your complaint within 48-72 hours (usually faster, but I’m giving myself some buffer for weekends or holidays). If your claim appears legitimate and meets legal requirements, I’ll remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content promptly.

I’ll also make a good faith effort to contact the person who posted the content if applicable, informing them about the removal and providing them with your DMCA notice. They have the right to file a counter-notice if they believe the content was removed mistakenly.

Counter-Notification Process

If you believe content you posted was removed from MG Tools by mistake or misidentification, you can file a counter-notice. This needs to be sent to support@mgtools.online and must include similar detailed information proving you have the right to post the content in question.

Counter-notices get taken just as seriously as takedown requests. I’ll review the situation fairly and make decisions based on the evidence provided by both parties. If your counter-notice is valid, the content may be restored unless the original complainant takes legal action.

Repeat Infringer Policy

MG Tools maintains a policy of terminating access for repeat copyright infringers when appropriate. If someone consistently violates copyright laws despite warnings, we’ll take action to prevent further infringement. This protects both copyright holders and the integrity of our gaming community.

That said, I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt and educating rather than punishing when possible, especially for unintentional violations.

False Claims and Misuse

Filing false DMCA claims is serious business and can have legal consequences including liability for damages and attorney fees. Only submit a DMCA notice if you genuinely believe your copyright has been infringed. Don’t use DMCA as a weapon to remove content you simply don’t like or disagree with – that’s abuse of the system and potentially illegal.

I trust that everyone reading this will act in good faith and use these procedures responsibly.
